Winter Featured Cacher
« on: February 09, 2009, 10:24:47 PM »
I guess it's well past time to select the NWOG Winter Featured Cacher. Let the nominations begin!
What say we accept nominations until next Monday, put up the poll and run it til the following Monday.

My vote is for Hunter/Killer.  They have been caching for less than a year, and have outstripped most of us in cache finds  -  450 at the time of writing.  I don't know how they do it, but my hat is off to them.

I would agree to that - and more FTF's than a lot of us put together probably too!

Kathy and I would like to nominate Shroom and Jen. They have done a lot  over the years to elevate this hobby in the area, from challenges and meets, to some well done caches, and they also have provided all of us active cachers with a place to park our butts in front of the computer.  nwogeocahers.com A place to call home.

You're very kind H+K, but I think we all want to hear from you this season. Jenn and I will get our turn some other day. :) Shall we call the vote? All in favour? I see those hands. Any opposed? I see none. Hunter Killer it is then!

:PAlthough H+K are very much favourites of ours and well deserving of all the accolades that their fellow cachers bestow upon them, this winter, to us, it seems that ChrisDom has been an extremely busy cacher.  Not only has he found just about anything placed since November, but he has hid set out some very interesting challenges for us also.  So, due to his busy winter nature - he seems to live in those snowshoes of his - we feel that ChrisDom gets the nod this year for being a true Winter Cacher.
I cache, therefore, I am.

Well due to the overwhelming support of Hunter+Killer for this round of featured cacher, I think we can forgo the poll. Perhaps when time rolls around for the Spring Featured cacher, we should simply put all previous nominations (including the deserving ChrisDom) up for the vote, plain and simple.

And to get back on track, we'll try to do that for early April (near the beginning of spring.)
