I had the pleasure of meeting the Murfster and his team this past weekend.  We had a delightful chat and after learning about a new game and since it is so easy to set up because Lord knows I have my hands full already with hidding 150 caches!!!!!  We will add "Closest to the Pin" game to our weekend.

Mechman, Mechmama, Mechtoddler 1, and Mechtoddler 2 will be attending this event, and are looking forward to it.

Mechman will also be giving an astronomy talk and doing some public observing through his telescope at Neys Provincial Park, on the Saturday of this weekend.  Details to be worked out, you are all invited to listen and view with me.  Not to take away from the geocaching weekend....I'm going to try and do a little bit of both.

Perhaps if it is clear 2 nights in a row I can do the Sunday night observing over at Neys Lunch (if they'll have me)....we'll see what Mother Nature has in store!

Only 5 weeks until the Neys Geocaching Frenzy Event.  Tammy has been busy setting up the caches for this event.  The one thing that she needs to know in advance is a good estimate of how many people will be attending the event.

So please when you are able, please log to the event listing and indicate if you will be attending the event.  Camping spots and cabins are still available for the event weekend.

Sounds like it's going to be a good time. We'd love to attend, but with Jenn being nearing the end of her pregnancy around that time, we'll be sticking around home. Have a great time! Take lots of photos!

The coordinates for the games planned will be listed in a program type booklet that will be available upon arrival for the weekend however many have requested that I post the coordinates on my website so they can download them before their arrival. 

Lord knows I tried but with no success..... so the best I can do for those individuals is the following............

There is a computer set up in the store for our customers use.  I will have the coordinates on that computer using the program EasyGPS which I have downloaded from the geocaching.com site.  Bring your cable and plug into that computer to get your coordinates. This of course will be at no charge!!!

On another note......
Programs need to be printed and loot bags need to be stuffed, not to mention geocaches have to be stocked with enough playing pieces for everyone participating so please log your intentions if you plan to attend on the geocaching.com site as soon as you can nail your plans together!!

I'm very excited about this event, it's been A LOT OF WORK but I think the fun will be well worth it all.  Hope to see you there!!

I think with a little work, someone could create a .GPX or a .LOC file of all the coords that we could post here on the site. Any chance of you emailing the coords (I know there's a tonne of caches, right?) or doing an export from EasyGPS?

You would think easy GPS would have a .gpx output....I can make a gpx file using GSAK if needed.

I will send the easyGPS file with all the coordinates by email to you.  I would not want people to start the hunt though until Sat morning Aug 1.  The game itself is in the loot bags that will be handed out Friday night at the fire so hunting early would serve no purpose.  Can we arrange it to only go live the morning of Aug 31?

I will do my best to post it July 31 (I presume that's what you mean, not August 31.) But as I mentioned, we might be pretty busy that weekend and not be at the computer. Is it critical that they don't get released a day or two earlier? I'd hate to be holding off on posting them and then get called away the night before. Whatever you think is best though, just let me know and I'll try to get it done for you.

Hello All

Special thanks to Machman and Shroomazoom, the coordinates will be made available here on Friday July 31 barring the destraction of a new geocachers being born!!

Keep in mind the coordinates will be availble on a computer in the store at Neys Lunch & Campground as well so if you bring your cable you can download them here too.

PLEASE DO NOT START HUNTING FOR CACHES PRIOR TO SAT MORNING!!!! You will need the game boards found in your loot bags to make the caches relevant.

If anyone is planning to camp at Neys Lunch & Campground please call or email to make your reservation.  We still have one cabin left as well.

I just received notice that I got approval on a permanent cache that will go live on Friday July 31.  I am woking on a night cache too and will keep you posted on the status of that one.  It looks like we will have a few FTF opportunities available for the weekend as well.

Keep an eye out for the new listing called  "The Crack" It's tough to get to the cache as the terrain is incredibly rough,I would recommend doing it with a buddy for safety reasons,  but the find will be an easy one.
