NWOG iTouch/iPhone App
« on: July 28, 2010, 11:57:07 PM »
I've been developing iPhone/iTouch apps for a month or 2 now and I would like to develop a NWOG app. I need some suggestions because an app that links directly to the site will likely get declined for lack of features.  :( So anyone have some features they would like to see implemented in a NWOG app? Something you like from another app or something you wish was in other web content based apps?
I could probably have it done in a few days depending on the amount of suggestions received.

Would this be available through ITunes or is jailbreaking required?  Have you paid the $100 fee to be a IPhone Developer?

Can you add a feature that tells you how many geocaches are presently in Norwest Ontario?  It would also be neat if it could identify the amount you currently have found in NWO (and what you have left to find).  Also you could add the top ten NWO geocacher members (by # of finds in total and in Norwest Ontario).  There could also be a list of top 20 must see NWOG geocaches.

That should keep you busy this summer.

The list of caches you have found and still need to find seems over my head but the rest seems like it shouldn't be too hard. Who know maybe ill incorporate the caches you haven't found in a future update.

Here are the latest screenshots of the NWOG app I still have to add the top nwo caches feature and probably remove the GC.com link.

Just wondering what that thing in the bottom left is?   ;D

Looks good  - may want to get rid of the extra letters in the outer corners....and perhaps fill out the square a little more as if the design continued...know what I mean??

I got rid of the text and updated the image, it does look much better now. I may eventually make it look like it continues.

Yer. Maybe it's because it's my job to do this kind of thing, or maybe it's because I made the logo, but... Yer. ;)

My suggestion is keep the logo as it is (as in my original version) and maybe I'll have to put together a visual identity protocol document. :)

Looking forward to the app though P99. :)

I would leave it original but I don't like all the white space, I still don't like the white space that is left  :P

What about a solid background? Or a nice monochrome texture?

Solid didnt look so nice but a nwog gradient or monochrome might look nice. I'll go try em out.
