Pathtags for SCC
« on: March 19, 2011, 09:24:48 AM »
So, looking at H+K's pathtag (and JLee's and Sarada69's) I've got a hankering to get my own personal pathtag too. I'm thinking that they might be good little additions as prizes for FTF/STF on my SCC caches.

Then I thought, maybe it would be fun to make up a SCC2011 pathtag too. Just as something inexpensive, but fun as a souvenir for this year's SCC. I'm thinking, that as fun as geocoins are, I'm not really into sending them out into the world (they seem to get "lost" more frequently these days) and they're comparatively every expensive and time consuming (still, the possibilities for a coinn are also a whole lot cooler.)

Any thoughts or interest in a SCC pathtag?

I was thinking the same thing, only thing is that the starter pack gives you 50 tags and you have to order them in 100s after the starter.  That means the first 50 would run a little over $2/ tag.  Maybe having just a SCC (without the year) would make more sense?

Hmm. Good thoughts re: price. I don't know that we've had over 50 "Will Attend" or "Attended" logs at a previous SCC (though we've come close.) If Jenn doesn't veto it, I can see splurging the $100 for the first 50 "Will Attends" that also "Attend." Or alternatively, planting a bunch in a few caches (without telling anyone, except the c.o.) and then getting rid of the rest at the dinner.

Hmm. Thinking I might just do it. :)

Well, call me crazy ("You're crazy!") but I just went ahead and did it. I've only ordered 50 of them, but I'm going to give them out free to the first 45 Geocachers (like the person who holds the account) who RSVP with their "Will Attend" log to the Spring Cache Challenge cache event listing and who also show up at the event. :)

I'm keeping 5 tags for me to do with as I want.

In the past we've had waaay less than 50 cachers log a "Will Attend" at the event and we've only just made it over 50 in attendance at the event in the past. That has always included lots of couples and families too, so I'm expecting that there will be enough pathtags to go around. Still, log your "Will Attend."

I imagine there will be pathtags left over still, so once everyone has got their first one, then I might give the extras out to the kids and spouses, etc who are there and want one.

What will the pathtag look like? Well, I designed it in the last couple hours, so that'll give you a hint. But I'm going to keep it a secret until the event, I think. :) Hee hee.

Oh crap,  seen this too late. You only ordered 50? I would buy up 25 or more easy even if they were two bucks each. They make great swag, just like Chris's NWO patches which we would like another 25. We have met, and have become friends with many cachers that also collect pathtags, so a few traders would have been nice.

Hey. Tom

Can I get one of your new pathtags?  Do you have one of mine?  Lets setup a trade
