Father's Day
« on: June 21, 2010, 09:21:50 AM »
Wow - what a great father’s day I had yesterday.  It started with a two part gift from my son, one part being the Avatar movie and the other part being GPS coordinates, followed by breakfast at Cousin's with our relatives, soccer games for the kids, a bit of Geocaching and back home again to find the second part of my fathers day gift.  My son gave me the coordinates and away I went to find my gift.  After a bit of bush whacking I found it and the most amazing realization is not that he gave me this gift, but the advanced planning and thought he had to put into it.  This gift was in a lock n lock container that he camouflaged with camo paint and using saran wrap he produced a very well made camo product.  Inside I found a roll of camo tape, pen, two TB tags and a Geocaching lapel pin.

How wonderful and thoughtful!   :)

I hate to hide this container somewhere; but if I do I just may call it the Father’s Day Cache.  Hmm.
What a great country!

He did it again.  My birthday's coming up and my boy gave me a big box all nicely wrapped and all that was inside was a sheet of paper with coordinates.  But this time it was a multi-cache style hunt.  So out we went.

The first stage was buried in the sand with just a small, rust looking like end of a pop can sticking up.  I walked past it several times.  He had more fun watching me almost stepping on it and not realizing that it was the cache.  He must of run out of patience of felt sorry for me since he eventually told me the general direction I needed to look.

The second and final stage was 3.5 km away, so we jumped in the truck and off we went.  GZ showed it to be near a big rock in a beaver pond.  Thankfully the beaver dam lead to this rock and the search began.  This one took a while too, but was a quicker find than the first.  Inside I found several unregistered TB’s and a Geocoin.  Another wonderful and thoughtful gift with a tremendous amount of forethought and planning.

One thing for sure, when CanadianStock hides a cache it will be well disguised and carefully hidden.

Cheers  :)

Unfortunately Geocaching dot com does not allow caches that are buried below ground level ;) So in essence an illegal hide LOL Sounds like alot of fun.

I forgot to mention that my son "spikybeagle" gave me my own pathtags for Father's Day.  I haven't got them yet (on order) - just seen the design.
The name for the pathtag is "The Marathon Man".  The image on the pathtags is a sasquash.

I will have them for trade when my son sends them to me.  He has had several request for trades already.

Thanks ChrisDom for posting the picture

What is that thing on the bottom right of the circle on the orange part? Looks like an ant or insect of some type. ;) Looks good, except for lake Superior or ant or whatever it really is. Cool to have your own pathtag. Cheaper than a geocoin.

I think spikybeagle took that design from the NWO Geocachers symbol - so it must be Lake Superior - just remember it will be a lot smaller on the pathtag version.

I will have the pathtage available for trade or give away for bribes (LOL)
