Historic Caches
« on: July 17, 2008, 01:22:06 PM »
So, I've always been curious about caches that have been archived. Especially caches that have been archived before I had a chance to find them. So, I started putting together a list of archived caches in the Thunder Bay area. I'm glad to see that there are only a handful of caches that were archived before I got into the game. So, I've had the chance to look for most caches (though that doesn't mean I've found them.)

The oldest (archived) cache in the area that I've found has hidden in 2002. Now, that's only six years ago, but it seems like an ETERNITY in geocaching terms. At least to me. There are/were a few others hidden in 2004 it seems. Anyway, old caches are pretty cool to me. I wonder what the oldest active one in the area is.

Well, if you'd like to help with my list of archived local caches, check it out and get back to me.

As far as active caches, Matt and dembecks toy box is the oldest we have found. Hidden:  8/23/2001. Considering geocaching started in 2000 that's fairly old.
If you don't like the way I drive....Stay off the sidewalk.

Animals taste good.

Learn how to use a compass. Gps is fine until it does not work, and it sucks to have to eat your friends to live.
