Earth Day CITO 2010- The Bluffs
« on: February 07, 2010, 11:41:28 AM »
Well, the CITO ( cache in trash out) event, GC23FA8 has been posted for a week and I only have 2 "will attends".

I know its early to commit for an event in late April; but posting your "will attend" will give me an idea of how many to expect (and help me get sponsors).

By attending this event, not only will you get the cool CITO icon in your finds listing, but you will be helping to do your part in keeping our green spaces clean.

Hope to see the expecting to attend numbers rise soon.

Chris, your dedication to cleaning up our green spaces is commendable. The Bluffs happens to be one of my favourite areas in T-bay and frankly I think its a treasure this city needs to be proud of. I'm glad to see we will be doing something correct the damage that has been done here.

I hope everyone can come out to this one and help. :)

I just received the CITO pathtags in the mail for the event.  You have to get these in your collection!!!  Just log your "will attend" for the event (the first 30 to log (and shown up) will receive a free pathtag.

A special thanks to Landsharkz, one of the CITO event's sponors, for their generous donation of prizes for the event.   They have have donated a great caching package, which includes a Canadian Cacher geocoin, a spiral bound pad of "rite in the rain" paper and plenty of other swag.

Come on and post your "will attend".

Just wondering if anyone has thought of any promo stuff for this date yet, to a)get others involved in the clean-up b)promote the hobby.

I came across this brocuhre and wondered if we could get a printer to make some up for us as a donation?  Then we could give them out to non geocachers at the event (and other future events).

With April just around the corner and the lack of snow in Thunder Bay, it is an excellent time to post your "will attend" for the Earth Day CITO ;D
Come and do your part as a NWOG geocacher to clean up our green spaces.  Bring/ tell your friends and family; you don't have to be a geocacher to attend!!!

Just an update to let you know that KBMsales, one of last year's CITO sponsors have donated a gift certificate to this year's event.

I am looking for a few volunteers to help out with the CITO event.

I am going to hide some temporary caches close to the event, and need volunteers to act as guides to the others that may want to try geocaching (but don't have a GPS yet).
H-K, if you don't mind, I would like to use one of the ammo cans you donated for a prize for this temp cache until the end of the day.

Also, if anyone can bring a wheelbarrow to the event, I am sure we could make good use of it.

Chris, if you need another ammo can or two for the temporary hides, let me know. I've got a couple you could use.

Also, while we won't be there right at the beginning of the event, I'd be happy to help out people geocaching for the first time.
