I just received notification that two seals may be joining us for the event! Apparently they are seals of the northern variety.  ;)

I sent an email to the owners of those caches at NorthernLights to see if they are really not winter accessible or if we could do them. They haven't replied. I'd hate to make the extra 45 minute drive out there only to find out that they really aren't winter accessible.

PS: I'll need to borrow a pair of snowshoes. :) Thanks!

I have about 8 pairs of snowshoes from the 1st Marathon Scouts that I can bring.

This is a friendly reminder that the 3rd installment of C&C is less than 2 weeks away! Currently we have about 7 or 8 people logged as attending the coffee portion and about 4 or 5 confirmed for caching after. If lets see if we can get that number up a little higher :)

Here's the expected list of caches we will be shooting for:

Whitefish Lake Island: 30 minute walk (max) there and back
Vanishing Falls: 750m off the road
Above the Atic and Below: 2km in and out (mostly across lakes,) 400m "portage"
Scott Lake #1: 800m across a Scott Lake
Between His and Hers at Prelite Lake: Only non-winter friendly cache

Hope to see everyone out there!

Less than 2 weeks away ??? , look at the calendar W_M.

For Scott Lake #1, don't forget to mention the 1.4km hike to the lake and then the 800m across it.

My mistake apparently just over two weeks away  :P

I'm not going to lie, I have other things on my mind right now.. Like the fact I will be spending the next week an a half on a variety of Caribbean islands.  ;D

Its coming along, but I don't expect to do much caching and I am the only cacher in the group of 9 going.

I do plan to attempt the following:

Stingray City- Grand Cayman Islands
The Mayan Ruins Of Tulum
Roatan Travel Bug Hotel

Should give you an idea of where I'm heading.  8)

Just checked out the caches you are going to do Mark while on vacation, and I see a travel bug Sheepskin   that we picked up in Minnesota in the fall is in the  Roatan Travel Bug Hotel That is just wild, and the neat thing about moving trackables. Have fun and smash back a few for us.

Wow that's amazing! If I can swing a visit to the hotel I will definitely look for some bugs to bring back, and I think I might drop one of my coins down there :D

Well it's been a busy winter (not sure about were time went) but I think that it will be posible to make it for the event.  The between his and hers may be a little dig but nothing to bad in the snow we've had.  The rest are best done in the winter as most were place in winter.  I won't be making it for coffee but will join you as you hike out on Whitefish as I sit sipping on my coffee from the comfort of the Ice Lodge.

Happy Caching

It will be great to have you along Jay!

Just a reminder to all that this less than 1 week away and if you are planning to attend make sure to post up on the event listing. We want to make sure we know exactly who to look for at the coffee shop as we will be making out way to the caches as soon as possible to maximize caching time.

Well... I don't know who planned this event during the mens gold medal hockey game?  I guess i'll still make it... well you may have to keep me from wondering back to the ice shack to watch the game after the whitefish cache...or we can all go back and watch the game on the dish and tell the rest that we found all the caches.

I was wondering if the best approach to take to find the caches is to go out to the furthest cache we want to find and then work our way back
