12 Days of Cachemas
« on: December 21, 2009, 08:43:39 PM »
CacheDrone has kindly agreed to post a cache  each day for my 12 Days of Cachemas series.  It begins on December 25 and ends on January 5.  The 6th and 12th are puzzle caches (that require you to have collected #s from other caches in the series).  The Christmas Day cache (The 1st Day of Cachemas) and the puzzle caches will have a FTF gift.

Enjoy.

Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Please enjoy this series and take care in this nasty weather.
The caches are mostly easy access, but they have been hidden up to an hours drive outside of Thunder Bay (Jim, out of town cachers may still have a chance at a FTF).

Some may want to wait until several caches are posted and make a day of it.
Don't forget to record the #s found on the back of each logbook (the #s are needed to find the 6th and 12th caches).

To add to the Christmas season, pnutbeagle put out a "Christmas 2009" cache in Marathon.  I will be out in the morning to get it.  I need a find on December 25 to complete a challenge cache I found in Southern Ontario.

We will see if I can get to Thunder Bay in the next week or so.  My son has to be back to Lakehead for Jan. 04/10.  So we will be up on that weekend at least.  We will see the distance as the caches are published.

Well sounds like everyone was out having fun with the first day of cache-mas.

Lucky me, I get to sit around and watch the lovely Southern Ontario rain today.  :-\

Oh well hope all of you are having a great Christmas!

Yup, you're missing out WM! Hope you manage to get the remaining caches you need to have found 200 caches this year!

Thanks ChrisDom! This morning was a lot of fun. Wondering if we could beat H+K out to the cache. (Wishful thinking!) But a great little cache, nice and winter friendly. But what was best was meeting up with other cachers on the trail. I hope that a few more folks can try to join us tomorrow morning too! Mr. Pepsi and I plan on being at the Second Day of Cachemas bright and early tomorrow! :D

My geocoins have not shown up from Oakcoins yet.  So a change has been made; the 6th and 12th days of Cachemas will have a LANDSHARKZ gift certificate for the FTF.  Good Luck to all.

I was hanging out at the computer this morning waiting for the Second day of Cachemas to be published. Finally, I went upstairs to play with the little dude and Jenny calls out from downstairs "It's been published!" So, I make a quick call to dad and we're off (after shoveling the snowbank at the end of the driveway and pushing the car out.)

Too late, Poohma's and H+K were driving out. We probably only missed caching with them by five or ten minutes, but that's the way it goes sometimes. :) I'm not surprised that H+K beat us today though. They only had to drive all the way across town in the rain and snow. Good showing guys, too bad Mrs Poohma spotted it first.

I'm hoping that tomorrows cache get's published before church. I want to still be in the running for a FTF.

PS: I think everyone who was at todays cache is unsure of its secret number. Me and dad think we might have swapped the last two digits when we got back to the truck. I asked the Poohmas and they said the same thing and were hoping that H+K remembered it correctly. :) Could be interesting come Wednesday.

Kathy has ??? written down Darren. Not sure if it is right. Maybe Chris can let us know for sure. Ya we are first on the scene but these hides in pine trees with all the snow kill us. We manage to remove the snow then others find it. Not a big deal especially today, when Margret said got it I said Thank God. That was just nasty.

If you don't like the way I drive....Stay off the sidewalk.

Tell you what, Tom, I'll do my best to get to this morning's cache before you do and knock all the snow down my own back, so you and Kathy don't have to. :) As you can see, it's 7:25 and I'm at the computer, waiting for the cache to be published (left the iTouch at Poohma's by accident yesterday, so no checking from bed for me today. ;) )

And today we got soaked again, then flash frozen. Lots of digging in deep snow. That was not winter friendly. But it is now, until the next snowfall. :P :P

I apologize for the not so winter friendly caches :-[.  I hid them in November and I guess I wasn't thinking about snow.  That should be the last of the caches hidden below the knees.

I have just posted an event for January 16th at the Madhouse 7pm, the "Norwest Ontario Geocacher's Pathtag Pickup".
