Kenora Cachers & Camping
« on: June 22, 2008, 03:40:32 PM »
I got an email through GC.com today from a Winnipeg cacher who was looking for secluded/primitive campsites in Kenora. Anyone have any suggestions. Also, does anyone know any of the Kenora cachers? If so, invite them over to NWOG.

Jenn and I will be passing through Kenora on our vacation this summer. There's one cache (in an old railway tunnel) that I'd like to get. Does anyone have any favourites from out there? I bet Ragbag has passed through and found a few.

Hey I think I know who you were talking to, thanks for keeping me in mind

I just signed up to post my request and see what was out there

"We are a Caching couple that are transplanted from the west coast now in WPG. Back home we like to camp away from the busier sites, 4x4 or boat access only. I was wondering if anyone had any good knowledge of a few spots around Kenora, LOW that we could get to and be away from it all. We have a mid sized fiberglass boat so sand would be best for landing.
Any help you may pass on would be great "

As well if and more so when we come across suitable places we will share them for others to enjoy :)

There is no cache in any railway tunnel here in Kenora. There are three along the Tunnel Island trail that takes you near an awesome rock tunnel.

I've done the majority of caches in the area...but I have a breastfeeding baby at home so I haven't left long enough to get any on the islands, nor do I have a boat...

I will probably walk over to a few in winter.

2 years 2 late... but.. check out my cache. "hidden camping retreat"  GC29KP6 been up for months and still no FTF. :( may/may not be considered 'primative' camping. You wont have neighbours, that's for sure!
