Brush up on your birds identification skills, pack your rubber boots and hip waders and practice your
canoeing techniques. The Cache the Marsh Challenge is coming soon!

The Oak Hammock Marsh is located just 20 minutes North of Winnipeg and features
over 20 miles of trails and a world class Interpretive Centre. Approximately 300
species of birds can be found in this rich wetland habitat as well as many
mammals, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

The event will consist of finding the many clues left behind in some of the 30
plus geocaches while learning about the environment that surround you.

The event will take place on Sunday May 31st, starting at 10:30am with an
introduction to GPS and geocaching for beginners. The Challenge will be from
1p.m. to 5p.m. and will end with a BBQ and award ceremony.

You can find more info by looking up the event (GC1QQ5P) or send me an email for
further information. j_bourgeois@ducks.ca

Hope to see some of you there!

Hey OHMIC! Glad you posted the Cache the Marsh 3 event on the site, I'm sorry that Jenn and I are going to miss being there by one week, it sounds like a great time.

Just so everyone knows, Jacques was at the Trade Show in Thunder Bay this past weekend. A number of local cachers happened to be there as well, so we all got to meet him. You probably noticed his name in some of your cache logs over the past few days too. He seemed to be seeking out every cache in town! :)

Since I am out in Winnipeg for a while this would be a good event to attend, but alas I will be back in Marathon the last week in May for our Scouts Tree Plant on the same day as this event.  So will not make this one.  It sounds like a good event.  I'll have to let my isister know about it.
